The Central District Conference (CDC) is a diverse district of churches found in rural, inner city and suburban communities. Along with our English speaking congregations our district includes Hispanic, Ethiopian, Lakota, Congolese and Slavic congregations.

District Minister of Central District of MB Churches // Job Description


The District Minister is called by the District Ministries Council.  He serves the Central District MB churches by supporting, encouraging, and stimulating the churches to carry out the Biblical mandate of Scripture and the vision of the Mennonite Brethren Conference.  His passion to know and glorify God should be clear through his leadership, prayer life, and his ability to effectively communicate and relate with all church and United States Mennonite Brethren Conference leadership and its agencies.


This man has a proven record of being a theologically sound Bible-based minister.  He is relational and relatable.  He holds strongly to the power of prayer.  He is a licensed minister and willing to be ordained by the CD board of Faith and Life.  He is above reproach and leads an upright holy life.  He should have a minimum of ten years of pastoral experience with a positive ministry record.


    • Work closely with all church planting and renewal endeavors.
    • Partner with the Faith and Life Committee in all credentialing, theological and training events.
    • Communicate to the churches the prayer and financial needs of the district.
    • Promote unity within the Central District community.
    • Provide pastoral care to the Central District pastors and to churches who are without pastors.
    • Visit Central District pastors.
    • Assist local churches that have pastoral staffing needs, by interviewing and resume reviewing as needed.
    • Facilitate seminars and workshops.
    • Facilitate leadership concerns/issues.
    • Conduct pastoral counseling as individuals, marriage, family and church needs.
    • Available to Central District Committees


    • Available to Central District for planning, staffing, and implementing, and evaluating policies, plans, and programs.
    • Available to serve on national boards as requested such as the USBFL, USMB Leadership Board, National Strategy Team.
    • Available to serve with Tabor College’s Board of Directors.
